So there's no way I'll ever watch 5 seasons of a show that I've never watched, especially since it's about to be over anyway. So what if I ONLY watch the finale? I think that should sufficiently piss off everyone.

I just started watching it about 1-1/2 weeks ago and I'm on season 4 already. I doubt the rest of it will be on netflix by the time I'm caught up, so I'll probably end up buying them from amazon or something. It's good is what I'm getting at.

There are some shows whose finale I've only watched when they come out on DVD.

Have you never binge-watched a show?
You know the appeal of the show isn't really how it ends, right? Since the protagonist starts the show with terminal lung cancer . . .

You'll hate it. If you only watch the finale, it won't make sense to you, you won't understand why it's such a good show, you'll read everyone's reactions and say 'So what, who cares that Walt/Jesse/Skyler/Marie/Holly died?'
When I first watched the first 5 seasons, I was in the middle of season 2 over a brief vacation in Houston with my parents. While passing time before going to the airport I pulled up an episode on my parents TV and watched it. My mom was just confused, wondering how I could watch such a boring show. The scene that she found boring was one of the most intense scenes in that whole season, but to truly grasp the intensity you had to know what was going on in the show at the time, what had happened to the characters before that point, etc.
Breaking Bad is a fantastic show, but it's also very complex. Especially now that it's approaching the end, there are so many storylines and so much character development that watching just one episode without at least reading a synopsis of every episode before it will do you no good.

Season 5 part 1 is on netflix now, so you'll only have to find some way of watching part 2.
I have watched the whole series (except season 5 part 2) twice, and I plan on picking up the entire set when it releases and watching it again.

No I've never binge watched anything. I've got a few hours a day I could devote at the expense of all other media, but that seems undesirable.
The ending is usually the worst part of a show.

Now you see what I'm getting at. My plan is working perfectly.

That sounds like a horrible idea. How did it go?

Pretty good if you can avoid spoilers. Last time I did that was with House.

And it made sense without watching the rest of the show?

I had seen the episodes up to season eight, then I waited until season eight came out in DVD.
